November CEO Lunch- Retaining Your Key Players

Looking forward to our last CEO official lunch of the year.  At this lunch we will be covering ways of retaining your key players.  As the job market tightens, key players become more and more important to the corporate team.  These days with the uncountable number of recruiters, name seeking call centers, and others trying to mine employee information from our offices we have to be aware.

What things can we do to retain our key players?  Commission plans, equity in the company, company trips, ‘nomunication’, promotions, or even just a quarterly lunch with your team.  Find out what things work and what doesn’t from other CEOs in Japan.

We will come out with a better understanding of what combination of factors work for our company.

Meeting- Friday, 16 November 2007

Time- 12PM-1330PM

September CEO Lunch- Achieving full business potential; is executive coaching a benefit or baloney?

Achieving full business potential; how far is executive coaching a benefit or baloney? (Moderator- Victoria Bolam)

Executive coaching has been in vogue for over a decade in the West, and its popularity seems to have finally breached the cultural divide.  Even traditional Japanese firms are jumping on the bandwagon and claiming coaching is an essential business tool. The sudden conversion to coaching raises questions about why recently resigned Abe-san hadnt thought of hiring one to change his fortunes around.

  • What is all the fuss about?
  • What exactly is coaching, and
  • Why is it claimed to be so powerful?
  • Is it really something which could take your business to the next level?

This, and many more questions will be asked at answered at the next CEOLunch.

August President’s Lunch- Brand Stretching (Host- Patrick Lauer)

A very special introduction to De’Longhi’s new restaurant, cafe, and bar.  De’Longhi is an Italian-owned manufacturer of electronics products in Japan.  The CEO Luncheon’s own Patrick Laurer has created this first in the world site for combining the showroom with an excellent place for a fine meal.

We’ll be touring the new facility prior to its opening and be the first group to be enjoying a fine meal at the venue.  Patrick will be sharing how he built this business over the meal.  The cost is zero to us, his only request is that we give a critique on the restaurant.
