Talent is the great challenge of humanity for the 21st century. Whereas the previous century saw a great liberation of human ability from antiquated bonds of classism, racism, sexism, and other forms of bigotry, the challenge of the current century will be identifying, refining, and channeling human ability into those avenues most conducive to human thriving. The challenge is all around us, from the elementary school classroom to the industrial factory floor to the corporate boardroom. The liberation, maximization, and coordination of human ability will drive the fate of our species.

What role will private enterprise play in addressing this challenge? All companies struggle with the basic reality that there is simply not enough talent to do everything companies wish to do.
